Sat, 14 Jan 2012 07:00:00 Thu, Jan 12, 2012 http://jordanne.fastrunningblog.com/blog-01-12-2012.html Cycle class today.&nbsp; We did a ton of hills.&nbsp; I was pleased with my gear ups but not my sprints.&nbsp; I wasn't able to keep up my rpms as high as I wanted for all 5 of the 30 second sprints at the end of the workout.&nbsp; I felt to good after the workout that I planned to run a 5K.&nbsp; Every single treadmill, elliptical machine and stair stepper was occupied when class was over.&nbsp; I didnt want to wait. Thu, 12 Jan 2012 07:00:00 Wed, Jan 11, 2012 http://jordanne.fastrunningblog.com/blog-01-11-2012.html <p>I started a warm up run on the TM with the intention of a good swim workout today.&nbsp; After about 3 minutes of slow jogging warm up (10 minute mile pace), I got bored and decided to do a 5K.&nbsp; Finished right at 28 minutes and cooled down.&nbsp; Felt really good.</p> <p>I am still working on good timeing for my breaths in the pool.&nbsp; I tried to alternate between right and left side, and had success for about 50 yards.&nbsp; It really didnt go very well.&nbsp; After inhaling a gulp of water and having a coughing attack, I gave up on the workout.&nbsp; Music may have helped today.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> Wed, 11 Jan 2012 07:00:00 Tue, Jan 10, 2012 http://jordanne.fastrunningblog.com/blog-01-10-2012.html <p>Got to the gym just in time for a cycle class with an instructor I havent had before.&nbsp; He was awesome.&nbsp; We did a tough pyramid on high gear, some awesome sprint intervals, and two killer hills.&nbsp; I was happy with my rpm's and consistency throught the workout with the exception of our sprint intervals.&nbsp; I need to continue to challenge my fast twitch muscles.</p><p>I planned on a swim afterward, but the pool was occupied with a class. <br /></p> Tue, 10 Jan 2012 07:00:00 Mon, Jan 09, 2012 http://jordanne.fastrunningblog.com/blog-01-09-2012.html <p>Nicole and I met for a track workout today in the rain.&nbsp; I like running in the rain when t isn't too cold, so it was great running weather for me.&nbsp; I always like speed workouts when I have finished them, and I know they are important for my training, but it is impossible to do them alone.&nbsp; We did about a mile warm up and cool down with 6 X 400 at about an 800 m pace (at least my 800 m pace - Nicole may have been running faster) with an easy 400 for rest/recovery.&nbsp; I didnt have my watch but based on the distance Nicole was in front of me I think my 6th was about 6-8 seconds slower than my first.&nbsp; I'll have to decrease that time difference the next time we do this work out.&nbsp; My legs are already feeling the workout.</p><p>&nbsp;On the way home I watched to people get hit by a car while crossing a cross walk.&nbsp; That shook me up quit a bit after a rather difficult day.&nbsp; <br /></p> Mon, 09 Jan 2012 07:00:00 Sun, Jan 08, 2012 http://jordanne.fastrunningblog.com/blog-01-08-2012.html <p>Cross Country Skiing for the first time today - I had a blast!&nbsp; We traveled about a 10K and took lots of pictures.</p><p>Great idea Nicole! <br /></p> Sun, 08 Jan 2012 07:00:00 Sat, Jan 07, 2012 http://jordanne.fastrunningblog.com/blog-01-07-2012.html Running with Nicole and Lisa on 5 Mile Road at Point Defiance.&nbsp; We loved this loop!&nbsp; I cant wait to go back when the sun is out.&nbsp; Felt pretty good until the last 1.5 miles when my leg started to bother me.
